About Me

Hi I’m Susan – caring for my mother while she lived with dementia for 12 years inspired me to co-create The Age-Well Project platform. The book of the same name became a bestseller! I qualified as a health coach to help people age well. I then spent a gruelling year studying for an advanced coaching qualification with American neuroscientist Dr Dale Bredesen, author of The End of Alzheimer’s, so I can help you reduce your dementia risk.

And now: the unexpected benefit has been I feel better than ever: stronger, clear headed and more confident that I’m doing my best for my brain. I’ve gained more energy, a stable weight, restful sleep, great skin and mental clarity. Want some of that? I offer bespoke, one-to-one coaching and courses which will transform your health.

The Power Decade: how to thrive after Menopause – my new book is published by Headline on April 27th 2023 and I can’t wait to share it with you! In this book I coach you through the preventative strategies you need to make the best of your health post-menopause. It’s for you if you’re in your fifties or sixties, ready to prioritise your health, your wellbeing and your future.

Testimonials

I was so confused by all the conflicting health information out there. Susan has helped me find a path through it and I feel terrific, despite getting on a bit! Her advice is simple, practical and do-able. I’ve found it really easy to make my life ‘Age Well’.

Helen, Sydney

The talk was so interesting and Susan’s simple way of explaining things was really helpful as I won’t forget the facts! We do practise a lot of the things she mentioned but I will certainly make more changes now. I’ve started reading her book as well. All fascinating.

We know that plaques of amyloid beta, and tau tang We know that plaques of amyloid beta, and tau tangles, are found in the Alzheimer’s brain.

Research published this week found that people who followed the Mediterranean or MIND diets (which are pretty similar) had reduced instance of those plaques and tangles at autopsy.

Eating more than six servings of green leafy vegetables per week, or not eating fried foods, were linked to having a brain four years younger.

I love my vitamin D supplement! Research published I love my vitamin D supplement! Research published this week links vitamin D supplementation to a 40% lower risk of dementia over a 10 year period.

It’s still freezing and grey here in the UK so no vitamin D from sunlight, which means supplements are the only way! But wherever you are in the world, be aware that, as we age, our skin’s ability to synthesise vitamin D from sunlight wanes. I take a supplement year round.

The one I use is a combined vitamin D and vitamin K2 supplement from @betteryou_ltd. The two vitamins work together to move calcium from our bloodstream (where we don’t want it to hang around and calcify) to our bones, where it’s needed!
